Casa Lajagua is the first hotel to greet you right as you arrive into Pedasi. The beautiful hotel is tucked away off the main road and features a outdoor pool, free bike rental,an on-site organic vegetable garden, and comfortable beds. The pleasant ambiance and high level of hospitality provided by the Canadian owners, Craig & April, makes this exceptional hotel one of the best in Pedasi. Craig is also an expert fisherman and an excursion on their fully-equipped Contender is a one-of-a-kind opportunity.
Casa Lajagua is located in Pedasí, just a 3-minute drive from Playa Arenal beach. Each room here is air-conditioned and includes a private terrace and entrance. They overlook the gardens and also feature a private bathroom with a shower and toilet. At Casa Lajagua you will find a garden and barbecue facilities. Other facilities offered include a shared lounge and a tour desk. Yoga classes are also available.
The hotel also accommodates special occasions and requests, i.e. birthdays, anniversaries, proposals. It is also possible to reserve the entire property for special events.

  • 6 Rooms, All rates exclusive of 10% VAT. All rooms based on double occupancy, $22/person for each additional person (max 4 occupants)
  • Famous hot breakfast included, tours available as an option.
  • Daily housekeeping, Onsite staff daily.

Amenities

  • All rooms are equipped with A/C, terrace, hot water, and pressurized “tropical rain” shower heads.
  • Beds are all very cozy with either a king or queen orthopedic mattress.
  • Each room also has a porch out front with hammock and chairs to relax in.
  • Bedroom suite also has a 32″ LCD TV and DVD player.

Rules

  • One child under 2 years old FREE per room.
  • NO PETS as 3 very friendly rescue dogs on site. Great with people but not to other dogs.
  • Outside alcohol is allowed but $15/day cooler charge on holiday weekends.
  • Prices subject to change over peak holidays, ex. two Independence Day weekends in November, Thanksgiving weekend, Christmas & New Year’s week, Carnival, and Holy Week.
  • Check in after 9pm by appointment only, Check ins after 11:30 pm subject to $25.00 late check in fee. No exceptions.
  • The above rates are our online discounted rates. Please be advised our standard room rates are; $200.00 for queen and king rooms, $280.00 for our suite.

Activities

Casa Lajagua provides you with excursions of your choice including the following:

  • fishing trips
  • daytrips to Isla Iguana
  • whale watching
  • horseback riding
  • surfing

Casa Lajagua is known for their massive fishing boat (a fully-equipped Contender) which promises comfort and power (although they can also book with local fishermen in pangas, the traditional fishing boat).
Some trip packages include

  •  Whale watching & Isla Iguana
    • 1 hour of searching for and watching whales behind Isla Iguana (where they usually are), followed by a few hours of swimming and snorkeling on Isla Iguana.
    • Included: sandwiches, snorkel gear, boat, expert captain Craig, coolers, with ice & snacks, water, soda (alcohol not included)
    • $400 flat for up to 5 people (kids included) for 5-6 hours
    • No fishing option
  • Whale watching & fishing
    • Head out further away from Isla Iguana, trolling for tuna, dorado, wahoo, etc. Count on seeing lots of whales while out fishing and trolling.
    • Included: sandwiches, boat, expert captain Craig, a local mate, coolers with ice & snacks, water, soda (alcohol not included)
    • You can keep whatever you catch, and it will be cleaned and bagged for you.
    • $100/hour plus 10% gratuity to the local mate (minimum 4 hours)

Cash only, 50% deposit required for reservation with balance paid prior to departure.
